Using Push Notifications

This article explains push notifications from a user perspective.

To receive push notifications, you have to opt-on per section or entry. Each notification subscription is enabled for the current device. Furthermore, the app needs to be installed (see: ) on your device beforehand and notifications have to be allowed.

When you enable a notification for the first time, you will be asked for permission.

Enable notifications for an entry

To activate notifications, open an entry, and use the button “Enable notifications”, at the bottom of an entry detail.

If you have more than two custom actions defined, the button will be moved to the option menu - which is the button in the screenshot with 3 dots (“…”).

To subscribe to notifications, pull down the menu in the header-bar and choose the first entry “Activate Notifications”

Overview and disable notifications

In your account settings (accessible via your user icon on the top right), Portrait will summarize the push notifications for your account, wherever you activated them. This is feature is practical, in case you maneuvered yourself in a push notifications flood. Not only can you see on what devices which notifications triggers, you can also deactivate it from here:
